When I first started blogging, I would take the time on the first couple days of the month to create a report about the status of my blog (traffic, revenue, subscribers, etc.), as well as a list of my goals for the next month.  After the first couple months, I stopped blogging, but have been back in the game for the past 6 weeks or so.

At this point though, I think I want to do it a little differently.  Rather than one long post, I think two seperate posts will be much better.  “Why?” you ask, well there are two answers: a) more content and b) allows me to expand further without having a post that is 1000-2000 words long.  Anyways, check past the break to find out how I did last month!

RSS Subsribers (Avg.) - 9
RSS Reach (Avg.) - 1

On the last day of November, the number of RSS subsribers was 14.  I’ve had more in the past, but this was the most I had over the month of November.  I can’t say I expected anything different.  I don’t really have an easy way to subscribe, in fact, the only way you can subscribe is if you press the orange box up in your address bar.  How can I fix this?  Well I guess you’ll have to read my December Goals to find out!  Oh and I would also like to note that over the past couple weeks, my RSS Reach is no longer one or two, it’s between five and ten daily!

Hmmm… I can’t say I’m disappointed.  Over the past month, I had 9 days with less than 100 unique visits, 7 of which were at the beginning of the month.  I was just getting back into promoting my blog at that point.  The other couple days were the day before Thanksgiving (people traveling? I think yes!) and Black Friday (people shopping? For sure!).  Anyways, not too much to say here.  Most of my traffic came from Entrecard, followed by bookmarks and direct address, and lastly, only about 1% of my traffic is coming from search engines and Digg.

Backlinks: 645

Alright, I use dnScoop.com to find out the number of backlinks to me.  The number always seems high, but I don’t know of a better way to figure this out.  I will let you know though, I only have 2 links via blogrolls (from lijit.com).  I know that this month, I did a pretty good job commenting on blogs.  Hopefully a majority of them were dofollow blogs, which I know will increase my backlinks.

If I remember correctly, Google Page Rank is updated once every 3 months or so.  I recieved a page rank of 3 back in July, so I don’t know if I’m still stuck at that point (prefered actually) or a change is in my near future.  As for my Alexa rank, I would have liked to have been in the top 500,000, but honestly, I have only been active on this blog over the past 6 weeks out of the 3 months.  Plus this goes with page views.  As for Technorati, I don’t really even know how to use it.  I check my Authority every once in a while, and I know it relates to backlinks… that’s about it.

Revenue: $16.16

Alright, this gets really complicated.  For paid posts, I only count them after I get paid, however, I do include my google Adsense revenue which I haven’t been paid.  I also don’t include the amount I made via Project Wonderful.  Why do I do this?  Well because I trust I will get paid from Google once I reach that $100 mark (I’m $10 shy… help me get a $100 check this month please?).  This month, I made $4.16 via Adsense and $12 from a single paid post which I was paid for on the last day of the month.  Wait til you read my goals for next month, expect that number to grow by more than ten fold!
